What is Cupping therapy?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cupping is \u00a0works by stimulating the meridians, the subtle channels of energy that run through the body. Cupping is used \u00a0technique stimulates blood flow, relaxes congested muscles,<\/p>\n

After cupping, it is normal to experience bruising on the skin that can vary in colour from light pink\/brown to bright red or dark purple. Practitioners see the bruising as a reflection of the degree of stagnation or otherwise in the patient in that area. The bruising, though, does not feel painful, but it can look rather startling!<\/p>\n

What is Moxibustion\u00a0therapy?<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

Moxibustion is the burning of an herb called Mugwort. When burnt, it has similar properties and, thus, its warming nature is useful for may helping to expel cold and damp from the body as well as warming the body\u2019s channels. The bitter and acrid aspects of Mugwort may help to break stagnation, clear phlegm, and rectify the qi and blood. Moxibustion can be considered to be a parallel therapy to acupuncture, being used to stimulate qi flow at points on the body that are selected for their specific function.<\/p>\n
